SLEC Stampe SV4B 1/4 Scale Model Aircraft Kit

The SLEC Stampe SV4B is a beautifully detailed 1/4 scale replica of one of the world’s most recognisable aerobatic biplanes. Renowned for its elegant lines and superb flying qualities, the Stampe remains a favourite with scale model enthusiasts, and this kit captures the character of the full-size aircraft while providing a rewarding building experience.

The fuselage is constructed from a precision laser and router-cut Liteply framework, reinforced with carefully selected balsa and hardwood strips to create a strong, lightweight and accurately shaped airframe. The one-piece wings feature laser-cut balsa ribs supported by hardwood spars, providing strength while maintaining the model’s authentic scale appearance.

The lower wing is secured using locating dowels and 6mm bolts, while the upper wing is supported by a pre-shaped wire cabane assembly and fixed with 6mm bolts. The outer cabane struts are attached using quick links, making assembly and transport both straightforward and secure.

The cowl is formed from moulded plastic and 0.8mm plywood wrapped around a Liteply framework, offering generous space for a wide range of engines, from glow and four-stroke engines through to petrol power. For larger petrol installations, a fibreglass cowl is available separately.

The kit includes comprehensive building instructions, a full set of plans, pre-bent undercarriage and cabane assemblies, together with a selection of essential accessories to assist with the build.
