SLEC Grumman Bearcat Model Aircraft Kit

The SLEC Grumman Bearcat is a beautifully detailed near 1/10 scale model of the famous mid-1940s naval fighter aircraft, combining impressive scale looks with exciting electric-powered performance.

Developed from the legendary Wildcat and Hellcat fighters, the original Grumman Bearcat was designed as a high-performance naval fighter. The SLEC version captures the character of this iconic aircraft while incorporating practical design adjustments to improve flying performance, reduce drag and achieve a more enjoyable model flying experience.

Designed primarily for electric power, the Bearcat can also be flown as a Power Scale Soaring (PSS) model by removing the motor and battery. The prototype demonstrated excellent performance using modern brushless motor technology and Li-Po batteries, providing impressive power while keeping the model lightweight.

Although straightforward to build and fly for experienced pilots, the Bearcat is a high-performance low-wing fighter model and is not intended as a first aircraft. Pilots should have experience flying low-wing sport models before attempting this advanced scale model.

An optional fixed undercarriage and tailwheel set is also available for those who prefer not to belly land the model. This is a practical modification rather than a scale feature, offering additional convenience for grass field flying.
