1/5 Scale DHC-1 Chipmunk RCAF T-30 Canadian Trainer Model Aircraft Kit

The 1/5 Scale DHC-1 Chipmunk RCAF T-30 represents the distinctive Canadian military training aircraft used by the Royal Canadian Air Force. Sharing the same renowned flying qualities as our RAF DHC-1 Trainer, the T-30 combines stable handling, scale appearance and smooth aerobatic performance with the characteristic bubble cockpit canopy unique to the Canadian version.

Designed as an ideal first large-scale low-wing model, the Chipmunk T-30 is equally at home in the hands of experienced pilots looking for a realistic scale aircraft. It flies beautifully with a fully cowled 1.20 four-stroke engine, Laser 150S or a 20–35cc petrol engine, delivering smooth, predictable handling and graceful aerobatic manoeuvres. With an all-up flying weight of under 7kg, the model remains below the threshold that introduces additional field-related restrictions at many flying sites.

The robust airframe is identical to our popular RAF DHC-1 Trainer and Super Chipmunk models, featuring a strengthened structure designed to withstand demanding aerobatics and firm landings. The latest version can be built with either a one-piece or two-piece wing, with flap servos installed in each wing half for simplified assembly and maintenance.

Precision CNC and laser-cut balsa and plywood components ensure an accurate and enjoyable build, while the comprehensive accessory pack includes many of the parts required to complete the model. A high-quality fibreglass cowl, wing root fairings and the distinctive bubble cockpit canopy are all included to faithfully reproduce the appearance of the RCAF T-30. Optional self-adhesive decal sets are available separately to complete the authentic Canadian trainer finish.
