Oracover Hotmelt Adhesive

Oracover Covering Film Adhesive is specially formulated to prepare wooden airframes before applying iron-on covering films. By penetrating the surface of the wood, the adhesive binds loose fibres together, creating a smooth, stable base that allows the covering film to bond securely.

Applying the correct adhesive helps prevent one of the most common causes of covering failure. Without a properly prepared surface, loose wood fibres can pull away during shrinking, reducing the effectiveness of the film’s adhesive and leading to lifting edges or unwanted wrinkles. Oracover Adhesive is specifically matched to the adhesive used on Oracover covering films, ensuring maximum bond strength and a professional, long-lasting finish.

The adhesive is economical to use, with a coverage of approximately 20g per square metre (dry weight). For best results, allow the adhesive to dry completely before applying the covering film. If the adhesive thickens after opening, the original consistency can be restored using the appropriate Oracover thinner.

Application Tip: Always allow the adhesive to dry completely before ironing on the covering film. Applying heat before the solvent has fully evaporated can cause bubbles beneath the covering.
