The Fairchild PT-19 was one of the most important primary training aircraft of the Second World War, serving with the United States Army Air Forces, the Royal Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force. Designed by Fairchild Aircraft, the PT-19 introduced thousands of pilots to military flying with its simple, rugged construction and excellent handling characteristics, making it one of the most successful monoplane trainers of its era.
