1/5 Scale DHC-1 Chipmunk Trainer Model Aircraft Kit

The 1/5 Scale DHC-1 Chipmunk Trainer is an impressive large-scale sport model, designed to provide stable, predictable flying characteristics while retaining the graceful appearance and aerobatic capability of the full-size aircraft. It is an ideal choice for pilots looking to progress to their first large-scale low-wing model, as well as experienced flyers seeking an authentic and rewarding scale flying experience.

The model is designed to fly beautifully with a fully cowled 1.20 four-stroke engine, Laser 150S or a 20–35cc petrol engine, delivering smooth, scale-like performance together with gentle, stable aerobatics. With an all-up flying weight of under 7kg, the model remains below the threshold that introduces additional field-related restrictions in many clubs.

Sharing the same robust airframe as our popular Super Chipmunk range, the Trainer version features a smaller rudder, shorter ailerons and larger flaps to provide more forgiving handling while still being engineered to withstand demanding aerobatics and firm landings. The latest version also offers the flexibility of building the wing as either a one-piece or two-piece assembly, with dedicated flap servos mounted in each wing half for simplified installation.

Precision CNC and laser-cut balsa and plywood components ensure an accurate, straightforward build, while the comprehensive accessory package includes many of the parts needed to complete the model. A high-quality fibreglass cowl, wing root fairings and a clear canopy are all included to achieve an authentic scale appearance. Optional self-adhesive decal sets are also available separately to complete your chosen colour scheme.
