SLEC A Grade Balsa Strip is manufactured in-house from carefully selected quality balsa timber to provide accurate, consistent strip wood for model aircraft construction and general modelling. By processing our own balsa, we are able to maintain excellent quality, precise dimensions and reliable grading throughout our range.
Available in soft, medium and hard grades, our balsa strip is suitable for everything from lightweight framework and stringers to spars, longerons and structural components. Each strip is precision cut, planed and sanded to produce a smooth finish, making it ready to use straight from the pack.
The wide range of sizes available allows builders to select the correct section for every stage of construction, whether building from a kit, repairing an existing model or undertaking a scratch-built project.
Choosing the correct grade of balsa is essential to achieving the ideal balance of strength and weight.
As balsa is a natural material, variations in grain, colour and density are to be expected. Every strip is carefully graded to ensure it meets our quality standards before being prepared for sale.
