A Grade Balsa Flat Section Leading Edge

SLEC A Grade Balsa Flat Section Leading Edges are manufactured in-house from carefully selected quality balsa timber to provide accurately machined leading edge stock for model aircraft construction. By processing our own balsa, we are able to maintain excellent quality, precise dimensions and a consistently high standard throughout the range.

The flat section profile is designed to provide a square reference face that is easily glued to the wing structure before being shaped to the final aerofoil profile during construction. This makes it an excellent choice for traditional built-up wings, allowing builders to achieve a smooth, accurate leading edge with minimal effort.

Unlike our sheet, strip and block balsa, our leading edges are supplied in a carefully selected density appropriate for their intended use. This provides the ideal balance of strength, weight and ease of shaping without the need to choose between different grades.

As balsa is a natural material, slight variations in grain and colour are to be expected. Every leading edge is carefully selected and machined to ensure it meets our quality standards before being prepared for sale.
