6mm Maple Faced Poplar Plywood – Laser Grade

Our 6mm Maple Faced Poplar Plywood is a high-quality laser-grade plywood featuring attractive decorative Maple veneers on both faces and a lightweight Poplar plywood core. This combination provides an excellent balance of appearance, strength and low weight, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

The Poplar core has a lower density and weight than Maple, making this plywood lighter than solid Maple plywood and particularly well suited to laser cutting. The lower-density core can also allow the material to be cut using lower laser power settings compared with denser plywoods.

The Maple faces have a consistent, attractive appearance with no large variations in colour. Small pin knots may be present and are typically only a few millimetres in diameter, adding to the natural character of the wood.

This plywood uses EN314-2 Class 1 interior-grade glue, making it suitable for interior and dry conditions. Interior-grade glue is generally considered preferable for materials intended for laser cutting, as exterior-grade adhesives can result in a more noticeable darker or burnt appearance around the cut edge.

This plywood is ideal for laser cutting, model making, architectural models, hobby projects and other applications where an attractive natural wood finish is required.
