2.0mm (3/32″) Ceiba Lite Ply

This is a high-quality 2.0mm Ceiba Lite Plywood sheet (LaserPly), suitable for a wide range of modelling, craft and engineering applications. Due to its low-density construction, Ceiba plywood is particularly suited to laser cutting and CNC cutting, requiring less power compared with many traditional plywood’s.

Ceiba is a fast-growing plantation timber with a much lower density than Birch plywood, making it lightweight, easy to cut and simple to work with. It machines easily with sharp tools and can be finished with light sanding if required.

This is B/BB grade Ceiba Plywood, featuring a B grade face veneer on the topside and a BB grade veneer on the underside. The attractive grain pattern makes it suitable for painted, stained or lacquered finishes, while the BB reverse side is ideal where appearance is less critical.

The plywood is constructed from 3 layers (3-ply) and uses an EN314-2 Class 1 interior-grade glue line, making it an excellent choice for laser cutting. Interior-grade glue is generally preferred for laser applications as exterior adhesives can produce a darker burnt edge when cut.

Grade Information

B Grade Face Veneer (Topside)
The B grade face shows the natural character of the wood, including variations in colour and grain pattern. Sound, smooth knots are permitted and are typically smaller than 15mm–35mm in diameter. The surface should generally be free from open knots and plugs, making it suitable for visible applications and finishing.

BB Grade Back Veneer (Underside)
The BB grade reverse side allows for larger knots and repairs. Sound knots and filled repairs may be present, making it suitable for applications where the underside appearance is less important.

Important Information

As wood is a natural product, sheets may have some bow, crook or twist. In some cases, movement of more than 25mm between the centre of the sheet and the corners can occur. This is a natural characteristic of plywood and does not affect the performance of the material.

When using Ceiba plywood on a laser cutter, we recommend securing the sheet flat to the laser bed using suitable tape or clamps to achieve the best cutting results.

The manufacturing tolerance for thickness is ±0.1mm, meaning a 2.0mm sheet may measure between approximately 1.9mm and 2.1mm.
