Our 1.5mm (1/16″) Cross Grain Birch Plywood is a high-quality BR/BR grade Finnish Birch plywood, manufactured using EN314-2 Class 3 exterior-grade glue and constructed from 3 plies for an excellent balance of strength, flexibility and dimensional stability.

Unlike standard Birch plywood, the grain runs across the shorter length of the sheet, providing increased stiffness across the width. This makes it particularly suitable for model aircraft, model boats, architectural models, laser cutting and precision engineering projects where grain direction is important.

The Class 3 phenolic glue provides excellent durability and moisture resistance. It is suitable for laser cutting, although the exterior-grade glue will produce a darker burnt edge than interior-grade plywood. This can easily be cleaned up with light sanding. The plywood also machines exceptionally well using CNC routers, scroll saws and conventional woodworking tools.

The smooth sanded BR/BR faces provide an attractive finish that is ready for painting, staining or varnishing.
