Manufactured from three layers of birch veneer with a smooth sanded finish and excellent strength-to-weight ratio, it is perfect for lightweight model aircraft, boats and detailed hobby projects.
SLEC 0.6mm Flexible 3-Ply Birch Plywood is a high-quality lightweight plywood sheet manufactured in Finland, offering excellent flexibility, strength and stability for precision modelling applications.
Constructed from three layers of birch veneer, this ultra-thin plywood provides outstanding strength for its weight while remaining flexible enough for curved structures and lightweight components. It is particularly suited to model aircraft construction, model boat detailing, CNC routing, laser cutting and precision craft projects where accuracy and consistency are essential.
This is BR grade Birch Plywood, similar in quality to B grade material, with knots limited to a maximum diameter of approximately 8mm. The surface of the material is sanded to provide a smoother finish than many standard plywood products, making it suitable for visible model components and detailed work.
The plywood is bonded using Phenol Glue EN314-2 Class 3, providing an exterior-grade bond for increased durability. It is suitable for both laser cutting and CNC machining, producing accurate components and detailed shapes.
When laser cutting exterior-grade plywood, a darker burnt edge may be produced due to the adhesive used during manufacture. This can be removed by light sanding if required. CNC routing provides clean, accurate edges and is ideal for producing precision-cut parts.
This material is PEFC certified, supporting responsible forest management and sustainable timber sourcing.
