Our 0.4mm (1/64″) Cross Grain Birch Plywood is a premium BR/BR grade Finnish Birch plywood, manufactured using EN314-2 Class 3 exterior-grade glue and constructed from 3 plies for exceptional strength despite its ultra-thin thickness.

Unlike standard Birch plywood, the grain runs across the shorter length of the sheet, providing increased stiffness across the width. This makes it ideal for lightweight model aircraft, model boats, architectural models, fine detailing, laminating, laser cutting and other precision engineering applications where grain direction is important.

The Class 3 phenolic glue provides excellent durability and moisture resistance. It is suitable for laser cutting, although the exterior-grade glue will produce a darker burnt edge than interior-grade plywood. This can easily be removed with light sanding after cutting. The plywood also machines cleanly using CNC routers, scroll saws and other precision woodworking tools.

The smooth sanded BR/BR faces provide an excellent surface for painting, staining or clear finishing.
